Chisholm back to winning ways in January Medal at Reay

After a couple of weeks' enforced absence due to snow and ice, golfers at Reay finally got the taste of competitive action again last weekend.
In the gents' January Medal, Sandy Chisholm enjoyed a return to the winners’ circle after an excellent round of 80 in wet and windy conditions gave him a nett 68. His halves of 41 and 39 included a birdie two at the short fifth hole.
Joe Wilson, who has been in excellent form of late, took second place with a nett 69 courtesy of a round of 83 which included a rare birdie at the seventh hole. Kenny Farmer snr took third place with a nett 76.
In the ladies' January Medal, new member Rebecca Munro secured the silverware with an excellent nett 68 following a solid round of 87 made up of halves of 43 and 44.
Carol Paterson claimed second place on nett 72 after a round of 83, with Pam Bain third after her round of 83 was good enough for a nett 73.
In round 10 of the Winter League Stableford, Simon Harper carded an excellent round of 74 for 38 points. He was helped along the way by a brace of birdies at the sixth and ninth holes.
Kenny Farmer jnr took second place on 36 points after a round of 84 and Joe Wilson finished third on 36 points, with a birdie at the 14th providing the highlight of his round.
Meanwhile, in the gents' Senior Stableford, Colin Struthers finished top of the tree with a haul of 38 points, helped along the way by a birdie at the 13th. Ian Ross posted an excellent round of 79 to finish second on 37 points, with Kenny Farmer jnr taking third on 36 points.
