Chasing pack unable to catch Farquhar in Summer Cup at Reay

The men’s Abbott Risk Consulting Summer Cup reached its climax at Reay Golf Club last week, with the chasing pack looking to post a score to threaten long-term leader Ian Farquhar.

Winner on the day was Brent Munro with a spectacular round of 66 for 39 points. Munro mustered no fewer than four birdies at the 10th, 12th, 14th and 18th holes on the way to victory.

An impressive back-nine performance helped Liam Moar to a share of second place on 37 points alongside Willie Steven, who fired birdies at the sixth and 15th, and Lee Parnell, who birdied the 15th.

In the overall standings Parnell’s performance propelled him to second place on a six-round aggregate score of 214. However, it was not enough to seriously threaten Farquhar who won the Summer Cup with an impressive score of 220.
