The traditional Captain versus Vice-Captain fixture got the new golfing season under way at Thurso in beautiful spring conditions.

Frazer Sparling and the greens team have ensured that the course is in immaculate condition for the time of year.

A total of 56 players took part, with the club secretary Andy Lannon required to stand in for the recently appointed captain, David Dunbar.

The captain's team won by eight points to six.
