Caithness saw their winning run come crashing to a halt as they were beaten 11-0 by Inverness Caledonian Thistle Development in their latest SWF Highlands and Islands League fixture.

Having racked up three comfortable victories against Orcadian opposition, Caithness fell short against the experience of the league leaders. They are by no means the only team to have been on the end of a double-figures defeat to Inverness this season and despite the result there were some positives for Caithness to take from Sunday's game at the Dammies.

It was a tough shift for Caithness but their back four fought hard throughout, in particular Sarah Henderson who didn’t stop running.

Donna Majilton and Hannah Hollywood also stood their ground in the centre of the pitch and sent some great balls out to captain Carly Erridge on the wing but the home side couldn't find a way through.

In their previous league outing, Caithness eased to a 10-2 victory in Orkney against Kirkwall City.

Goals from Chloe Stebbing and Donna Majilton had Caithness two up in the first 10 minutes and Ashley Swanson curled a corner past the Kirkwall keeper to extend their lead.

Morag Mackay got another and Stebbing added her second before a Carly Erridge penalty made it 6-0 at half-time.

Stebbing completed her hat-trick early in the second period before Kirkwall City managed to pull one back.

Caithness brought on Eilidh MacFarlane and young Anna Foubister as substitutes.

MacFarlane made her first touch count as she got Caithness's eighth goal. Mackay hit the crossbar, leading to a collision between Foubister and the Kirkwall keeper which saw the ball trickle over the line.

Foubister netted with a more emphatic strike to get Caithness into double figures before Kirkwall scored another consolation goal.
