The Boyndie karting circuit near Banff is the next stop for Jack Elder after his promising start to the year in the Micromax class.

The nine-year-old from Dunbeath has completed four races, with a second and a first at Crail putting him in the lead in his class in the East of Scotland Kart Club championship.

Jack is second in the North of Scotland Kart Club championship at Golspie after the first round. He was involved in some close battles along the way and just missed out on the win.

After last weekend’s racing at Golspie he is sitting third in the Scottish Super Series.

Jack enjoys the road trips away and says he can’t wait for the next one, at Boyndie this weekend.

He says he would like to thank all his sponsors because without them he wouldn’t be able to do what he loves.

He would be keen to hear from any other local businesses that might be willing to support him.

Jack’s dad, Terry Elder, explained: “We travel a 480-mile round trip to race at Crail every month, Boyndie is a 300-mile round trip and we do the 65-mile round trip to Golspie sometimes twice a week to test – so Jack really would be absolutely delighted to have more local businesses, big or small, on board.

“Jack is doing his best to fly the flag for Caithness and he is doing the county proud.”
