Big freeze leads to Wick Academy call-off

Wick Academy’s scheduled match against Clachnacuddin at Harmsworth Park on Saturday has fallen victim to the freezing temperatures.

It is one of seven Highland League fixtures that have been called off because of snow and frost. They are: Brora Rangers v Nairn County; Formartine United v Lossiemouth; Forres Mechanics v Keith; Huntly v Banks O’ Dee; Strathspey Thistle v Buckie Thistle; Turriff United v Inverurie Locos; Wick Academy v Clachnacuddin.

Two other matches – Deveronvale v Brechin City and Fraserburgh v Rothes – are still due to go ahead.

Academy’s next game is against Banks O’ Dee at Spain Park on Saturday, January 18.
