Bain has winning score of 41 in latest round of Thurso summer league

Jordan Bain (handicap 16) birdied the first in the latest round of Thurso Golf Club's summer league, sponsored by A&A Mackay Builders, as he returned a winning score of 41 points. Sid Campbell (17) had his best of the season, helped by a birdie at the third, as he returned 40 points.

Alan Coghill (9) birdied the eighth and 18th as he came third with 38 points. Alan Swanson (1), Alan Mackay (22) and Stephen Fidler (10) all had 37 points one ahead of Ian MacDonald and Graeme Henderson (5).

Pentland Open winners at Thurso Golf Club were Douglas Sinclair (left) and Ross Mackay, both members at Reay.Their total of 80 was enough to beat the Thurso pairing of Andrew Taylor and Willie Mackay with 78. The competition was played as a two-man Russian Stableford where each score is multiplied together.
