Members are split into two squads, development and advanced/competitive.
Many of the players train within the regional squad monthly in Alness and a number compete farther afield, at tournaments in Inverness, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow and occasionally England, or in other countries in Europe.
Recently two squad members were selected to join the Scottish national squad where they will be training quarterly in Glasgow as well as attending any national team call-ups.
The Caithness juniors play against their Orkney counterparts in an annual inter-county match, a big event in the club’s calendar that sees all squad players and coaches attending.

Kerry Mackenzie, Caithness Junior Badminton Club’s secretary and treasurer, said: “All involved with the club would like to extend a huge thanks to Amentum for its generous sponsorship.
“The squad players will certainly look the part in the inter-county against Orkney next season, which is due to be at home, and also in our local Caithness (Highland Area Restricted) taking place on September 13/14 in the East Caithness Community Facility.
“Many players will also be making trips south over the coming month so their T-shirts will come in handy to promote Caithness Junior Badminton Club and Amentum for all to see.”
