A trio of double wins at latest Caithness Riding Club dressage league
It was another fantastic set of results at the latest dressage league competition organised by Caithness Riding Club at the weekend.
Three members came away with wins in two classes – Lynne Sutherland, Russell Skelton and Liam Mackenzie – with some very close scores causing excitement.
Lynne and her young Connemara gelding Dan won both the introductory tests with a percentage of 64.56 in the first and 65 in the next one. While Russell continued his winning streak and took first in each of the preliminary classes on his HOYS prize winning cob Riley (Kincullen Moonstone). They had the highest percentages of the day with a 68.33 in the first test and 69.81 in the second.
In the junior section Liam Mackenzie scored top points in both the preliminary tests riding Stroma – they achieved 65.37 in Prelim 12 and 66.92 in Prelim 14.
In the novice tests Alison Wild and Cookie took the first win with 66.25 per cent, with Meghan Blackwood and Bob coming top in the second test with 64.42.
Meanwhile in the Elementary 44 test scoring was very close and it was Ruth Sutherland riding Mastermind IV who secured first place on a percentage of 65.6.
A good team of helpers turned out for the competition, which was held at the indoor school, Halkirk. Judge for the day was Kimberley Battleday.
