Your stash in the attic could help Kayden wish to walk come true

A THURSO family is appealing for people to have a good rummage around their attics and garages for any unwanted odd or collectable items to be sold at a fundraising auction.

The Kayden’s Wish 2 Walk appeal for three-year-old Kayden Gordon is hoping the auction, to be held at the Weigh Inn Hotel, Thurso, on Saturday, November 7, will attract a lot of support to push them closer to their £80,000 aim.

Kayden’s family are trying to raise the money to pay for an operation which could help the young boy walk.

He has spastic diplegic cerebral palsy, which means the muscles in his legs are so tight he is unable to straighten them, making it difficult for him to do simple things like sitting on the floor with his legs out in front of him, standing or walking on his own.

Kayden has learned to move around with the use of a walking frame but his parents, Sarah Gordon and Alan Malcolm, know all he wants is to be able to walk and take part in sports.

The family so far have raised just over £30,000 towards the operation.

They are calling for people to look out items that can be sold at the auction and ask any businesses to feel free to help with products or services.

To donate items people can contact 01847 896608. Donations direct to Kayden’s appeal can be made at www.justgiving.com
