Wick Sheriff Court heard that Morrison was stopped by police two miles south of Spittal, on June 16 last year, when he failed a roadside breath test. A follow-up test revealed a reading of 61mcg - almost three times the legal limit of 22mcg.

The accused, of Sandown Farm Lane, Nairn, has an analogous conviction for drink-driving within a 10-year period.

The knuckleduster was forfeited.
