Work order for Bower man who sent sexual messages to teenage girl
A young Bower man who admitted having sent a 13-year-old girl a series of sexual messages has been ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work.
Ewan Deering will also be under supervision for nine months.
Wick Sheriff Court heard that the 21-year-old engaged in conversation with the 13-year-old on three social media links between February and April 2022, and was, initially, under the impression she was 16. She subsequently informed him she was 13.
During the sexual traffic Deering, a first offender, made reference to the teenager’s breasts and thighs and told her he “couldn’t wait until she was 16”. The police were informed and the girl gave them access to the messages she had received.
Deering, of Halcro, Bower, was previously instructed to place himself on the sex offenders register.
