Woman twice legal drink-drive limit in Thurso town centre





A Thurso woman found to be twice the legal drink-driving limit was fined £300 and banned from driving for a year at Wick Sheriff Court.

Sarah Crossley admitted the offence which occurred on September 6. A plea of not guilty to not wearing a seat belt was accepted by fiscal depute Grant McLennan.

The 33-year-old came to the attention of police officers in Princes Street, Thurso.

Crossley, of Miller’s Lane, Thurso, failed a roadside breath test and a further test at Thurso Police Station revealed a breath-alcohol reading of 44mcg - the legal limit is 22mcg.
