A bomb disposal team were called to an incident in Wick after an unidentified item was discovered yesterday evening near the North Baths.

The item was found to pose no risk with the access road to the popular outdoor swimming pool still cordoned off around 11am this morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We were made aware of an unidentified item found at The Shore in Wick around 5.30pm on Sunday, October 24.

"Explosive Ordnance Disposal was made aware and attended during the morning of Monday, October 25. The item has been assessed and found to pose no risk. A cordon was put in place as a precaution and has now been lifted."
