Marrellian Majorettes do a virtual twirl and win awards

The Wick-based Marrellian Majorettes hosted their second virtual competition online last month and received awards before lockdown restrictions came into force.

December's Virtual Christmas Twirl Fest 2020 attracted competitors from all over the UK and USA – including Shetland and other parts of Scotland along with England, Ireland, Isle of Man, Tennesse and Maryland.

The ages of competitors ranged from two years through to adult. Out of 12 overall trophies five remained within Marrellian Majorettes.

Local twirlers received their awards at a presentation evening in Wick's Assembly Rooms last month.

The Majorettes have now started back in 2021 with online tutorials and challenges until classes can resume.
