A Wick woman is alleged to have assaulted a police officer at the town's hospital earlier in the summer.

Marianne Gilbert (43) is accused of kicking a police constable at Caithness General, failing to give him her details, shouting and swearing, and kicking a wall there.

Gilbert, of Leishman Avenue, Wick, is also alleged to have acted in an aggressive manner towards a 67-year-old neighbour, and refused to leave her house when requested to do so.

The accused denies charges of assault, threatening or abusive behaviour and disorderly conduct. The offences are said to have occurred on July 7.

Gilbert was granted conditional bail at Wick Sheriff Court on Tuesday pending her trial on October 4.
