Police officers called to a house in Wick found Tyler Campbell sitting on the doorstep in Wellington Street, the town's sheriff court heard on Wednesday.

The constables attempted to engage with the 25-year-old but he "reacted badly" and ignored a warning to behave.

Campbell, of Henrietta Street, Wick, admitted having behaved in a threatening or abusive manner on November 24, last year, and of having a record.

Solicitor Fiona MacDonald said that the accused had been attempting to see his girlfriend at the time but accepted he should have "moved on" when advised by the officers.

He was fined £135.
