The indictment includes allegations that the 31-year-old repeatedly kicked two police officers and headbutted a third, spat at two of their colleagues, and resisted arrest. A further charge accuses Stobie of assaulting a man and attempting to strike him on the head with a wrench.

The incidents are said to have taken place on February 27, 2022, in Glamis Road, Wick, where Stobie lives.

His trial, before a jury, was fixed for March 20.
