Wick man denies assault at centre





A Wick man is to contest a charge of serious assault in the town.

James Boyd (56) pleaded not guilty at Wick Sheriff Court last week and will stand trial on December 10.

The charge alleges that the accused, of Huddart Street, Wick, repeatedly kicked and punched another man on his head and body, seized hold of him and pushed him, causing him to hit his head on a metal pole before he fell to the ground.

The incident is said to have occurred at the Pulteney Centre, on March 11.
