Wick and District Gardening Club will be holding a plant sale and tombola stall with tea and coffee in the town's Nethercliffe Hotel from 11am this Saturday (August 20).

Money raised from the event will go towards purchasing rose trees and bulbs for the club's garden area at the riverside where earlier this year members planted two trees to commemorate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

The club had a busy day on Sunday, visiting two gardens in Lybster before continuing to the River Bothy at Berriedale for lunch.

The next stop was a visit to the Dunbeath Castle gardens and thankfully the mist had cleared.
