Wick Wheezers have received a donation of £1000 from Subsea 7 and will be using the funds to support anyone who suffers from chronic breathing problems, no matter the cause.

Chairman Reg Lewis thanked Ashley Bartholomew for nominating the support group to receive the award.

Wick Wheezers began some 12 years ago and is open to anyone in the county. It is affiliated to Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland and is recognised by the chest clinic.

Newcomers are welcomed at the Wheezers' sessions on Mondays between 2pm and 4pm at The Family Centre in Bank Row, Wick.
