Wetherspoon pub in Wick put up for sale

THE Wetherspoon pub in Wick and its 30 staff face an uncertain future after the business was put up for sale.

The company said the decision was a commercial one but stressed the pub - named after the 19th century Watten inventor Alexander Bain - will remian open until a buyer is found.

Far north SNP MSP, Gail Ross, described the announcement as "a big shock" but took some comfort from the fact it may not close.
