Women will have a central role to play working in a green freeport if the UK and Scottish governments accept Opportunity Cromarty Firth as one of the bids.

Highland News and Media got the main players together to let them tell the public in their own words just how important a freeport would be – not just to the Highlands, but the country.

Now, in the second part of our exclusive interview, Joanne Allday, of the Port of Cromarty Firth, says billions of pounds of investment and tens of thousands of jobs are at stake – jobs that, if they don't come to the north, will simply go abroad.

But unlike the male-dominated oil and gas boom of the 70s and 80s, there will be a huge amount of opportunity for women, who will be at the heart of the industry in positions at all levels securing the drive to net zero.
