Fairies can be elusive little creatures but the owner of a John O'Groats petting farm invites you to come along to try and spot some.

Cara Young, who runs Puffin Croft, says that an all-new Fairy Glen feature was built at the farm during lockdown and looks "blooming marvellous" with the all the flowers growing around it at the moment.

Cara said: "The Fairy Glen was installed at Puffin Croft during lockdown to enhance the visitor experience and to capture the imagination of children and adults alike.

"Nine fairy houses are nestled in the side of the flower garden by the stream, painted and built by myself from wood and with the odd fairy visible to the quiet and eagle-eyed visitor. Located at the bottom of the croft, it's a place of discovery when visiting the animals and opens up previously unseen views over the duck pond and the Orkney Islands beyond."

Cara featured in a documentary series last year with Ben Fogle which saw the celebrity presenter travel to John O'Groats to meet the former nanny who had left London to pursue her dream of running her own farm.

Puffin Croft is open every day from 10am to 6pm and costs £2 per person (cash only). There is no need to book.
