The Caithness branch of the disabilities charity Enable celebrated St Valentine's weekend with a well-supported buffet dance in the Weigh Inn, Thurso.

Many, both young and old, got out their dancing moves as they waltzed and boogied to the sounds of Peter Sutherland's disco.

Natasha Gunn and David Grant picked up prizes for their slick moves in the spot-dance contest with both receiving their prizes from local Enable treasurer Glynis Mackay.

David Elder and Elaine Gunn led the way in the waltz contest, while Ronald Harness and David Dungavel took the honours in the statues event.

Susan Munro and Peter Hardy raised the tempo samba-style on their way to success in the Macarena heat.

David Gunn and Louise Forbes went "in-out-in-and-about" towards winning the Hokey-Cokey, while the ladies' ’60s twist dance was won by Alison Gibbons and Jane Mathieson.

Enable branch chairman Willie Mackay, who organised all the special dances and the fun and games, said: "It was another entertaining and resoundingly successful evening for our members, helpers and carers. The dance floor was never empty."
