Rape and Sexual Abuse Service Highland (RASASH), a charity that provides confidential specialist support and advocacy to people affected by sexual violence and abuse in remote areas of the Highlands, were “delighted” to receive a donation of £2500 from the Morrisons Foundation.

The funding from the charitable arm of the supermarket will enable RASASH to create a mobile hub service, offering their support in rural communities of the Highlands who may otherwise not have access to their facilities.

Alev Taylor, the CEO of RASASH said: “RASASH is incredibly grateful to the Morrisons Foundation for their generous grant of £2500.

“This vital funding will significantly assist us in developing our new hub and creating mobile, portable support spaces that will allow us to reach and support more survivors across the Highlands.

“We deeply appreciate the Morrisons Foundation's commitment to our mission and their invaluable support in helping us provide safe and accessible spaces for those in need of our services."

David Scott, a trustee for the Morrisons Foundation, said: “It’s an honour to support the crucial work of RASASH with this grant of £2500. The mobile service will make a huge difference to ensure support is provided to people who need it most, regardless of their location in the Highlands.”

RASASH is the only specialist service for survivors of sexual violence in the Highland Council region, which is home to some of the most rural and deprived areas in the UK.

For over a decade, RASASH has been providing free, confidential, and specialist support and advocacy to people affected by sexual violence. Should you need any help, please contact RASASH on their free confidential helpline on 03330 066 909 or email support@rashash.org.uk
