Dominating the horizon at Thurso Bay today was the massive vehicle carrier ship Traviata, which stopped off close to Scrabster.

Built 2019, it has five hoistable decks, has a gross tonnage of 73358 and is 200m in length. It sails under the Swedish flag.

The vessel was on its way from Charleston, USA, to Bremerhaven in Germany. The picture was taken by Alan McIvor from his home in Thurso.
