Motorcyclist taken to hospital in Wick after crash on A9 near Berriedale

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital in Caithness after a crash on the A9.

The one-vehicle accident near Berriedale, nine miles north of Helmsdale, was reported to police at around 10.45 am.

The stretch of A9 was closed in both directions for a period of time, before partially reopening.

Traffic Scotland said at 12.25pm that the route is now completely clear in both directions.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Around 10.45am on Friday, 8 August, 2025, police received a report of a one-vehicle crash on the A9 near Berriedale, involving a motorbike. One man was taken to Caithness Hospital for treatment.”
