A missing man who sparked a police appeal on Saturday morning has been traced “safe and well”.

Police have confirmed that Christopher Cudbertson (36), who had last been seen driving across the Dornoch Bridge on Friday afternoon, has been found.

There had been growing concern for the Hull man’s welfare when police launched their appeal on Saturday morning.

Officers had appealed for motorists to check their dashcam footage to see if he or his car appeared on it.

But in an update shortly before 2pm, they said: “Police Scotland can confirm that Christopher Cudbertson (36), who had been reported missing in the Highlands has been traced safe and well.

“Thank you to everyone who helped with our earlier appeal.”
