A9 trunk road reopens following earlier two-vehicle crash at Kildary in Easter Ross, Traffic Scotland has confirmed
The A9 has reopened following an earlier crash in Easter Ross.
The busy trunk road was closed both ways for a time at Kildary following a crash between a motorbike and small van at around 11.11am.
Although the road was initially reported by Traffic Scotland as being “restricted” both ways, it subsequently confirmed its closure in an update at 12.15pm.
Emergency units from Police Scotland, the Scottish Ambulance Service and the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) all attended the scene.
The SFRS said it had sent two appliances following the collision, and deployed powered rescue equipment and small tools before standing down at 11.39am.
The road later reopened, with Traffic Scotland confirming the news in an update at 1.17pm.
It said: “The A9 has now reopened in both directions after an earlier road traffic collision. Road users are not expected any delays in the area as the traffic has returned to normal.”
It is not known if anyone was injured in the collision. Police and the Scottish Ambulances Service were approached for comment.
