TWENTY more coronavirus cases have been recorded in the NHS Highland area over the past day.

The seven-day total for NHS Highland is 209.

There were no new cases reported in Orkney or Shetland but four new infections logged in the Western Isles.

Figures released today also show a total of 903 new cases of Covid-19 reported across Scotland.

Four new deaths of people who have tested positive for the virus have also been reported nationwide – although register offices are now generally closed at weekends so the figure may be higher.

Of a total of 13,808 new tests for Covid-19 that reported results, 7.3 per cent were positive

The figures this afternoon state that 104 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

And a total of 1442 people were in hospital yesterday with the virus.

The statistics also put a figure on the number of people who have been vaccinated.

They say that 1,223,774 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination – and 14,281 have received their second dose.
