Twelve new Covid-19 cases logged in NHS Highland area

ANOTHER 12 new Covid-19 cases have been recorded in the NHS Highland area over the past day.

That takes the total recorded in the area since the start of the pandemic to 4738.

New figures released by the Scottish Government today show a seven-day total of 95 cases in the health board area.

Across Scotland, 390 new cases of Covid-19 were reported.

A total of 14,057 new tests for the virus that reported results had a 3.2 per cent positive rate.

There were no new reported deaths of people who have tested positive, although Register Offices are now generally closed at weekends.

A total of 61 people were in intensive care yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19.

Some 628 people were in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed cases.

The total number of Covid-19 vaccinations carried out has also been logged. It shows 1,759,750 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and a total of 115,930 have received their second dose.
