Another tree fell victim to the high winds today, this time the damage was reported at Miller Academy Primary School in Thurso.

The school was one of a number in the county to shut earlier today due to the storm. Parents and carers were asked to use the front blue door of the premises when collecting pupils.

A large branch of the tree snapped off in the wind at the Princes Street side of the school and was blocking access to the playground. Preliminary works were carried out this afternoon to make the area safe and the final clearing up will be done when the wind subsides.
