LULU'S smash hit from 1967 comes to mind with today's hearty offering from Wick High School pupils.

Not so much "To Sir, with Love" as the song goes, though, as the love is spread around much further with an ingenious charity fundraiser.

As a Valentine's Day gift to the British Heart Foundation, members of the S6 Leadership Team Charity Committee put their craft skills to good use and raised cash for the organisation.

The team asked staff and pupils to write anonymous love notes on to specially designed paper roses for a £1 donation to the charity.

The roses were then hand-delivered to the lucky recipients during registration.

Class 1 pupils got into spirit too and made a heart-shaped artwork with hand prints that they had been working on through the week.

The work was then displayed in the canteen area of the school for everyone to see.
