Tunes By the Dunes is coming back to get Dunnet rocking – and tickets are selling fast.

Following the roaring success of last year's inaugural event, the festival – taking place on the weekend of September 4 and 5 – once again has a bill packed with top acts.

Tide Lines, who wowed the crowd last year with their combination of Celtic soul, folk philosophy and big guitars, will be making a return.

Also on the bill are three-piece Stornoway act Peat and Diesel, who won the Live Act of the Year accolade at the Scots Trad Music Awards last year.

Many more quality artistes will take the stage and, as festival coordinator Iain Mackay says, there are 300 tickets left and punters are advised to get theirs quickly before the sold out sign is put out.

He said: "Tunes By the Dunes will be going ahead this year and we've already booked up 11 bands.

"Tide Lines will be back along with Peat and Diesel with other acts like Hò-rò, Rhythmnreel, Brandon McPhee and Beinn Lee also booked up.

"For those who remember Skerryvore from last year, unfortunately they are unable to return for this year's event as they will be on tour elsewhere.

"However, the bands I've already mentioned – and many more – will ensure that this will be another great weekend of entertainment.

"Tickets are going fast, though. We've sold around 70 per cent of tickets – around 300 left – so get yours before they sell out.

"We've tickets that cover the whole weekend that cost £65 and buses will be available from Thurso and Wick over that weekend.

"The festival will take place at Ham Park in Dunnet and will not be dependent on the weather as the event will be staged within a floored marquee."
