Thurso’s new whisky to make store debut

THE first bottles of whisky to be produced in Thurso in more than 150 years will be on sale at a store in the town next month.

JA Mackay is planning to hold a special tasting event to celebrate the first bottles of Wolfburn whisky going on general sale.

The Traill Street store will be the first in the county to sell bottles of the three-year-old whisky from March 1. It also hopes to hold a special event on February 27 when customers will be given the opportunity to try before they buy in a tasting session.

Wolfburn Distillery was established five years ago with the construction of the distillery at Thurso Business Park completed in January 2013 when production of the whisky began.
