A Thurso fish and chip van has the best fish supper in the north of Scotland.
Highland Haddy mobile van was crowned the winner at the Scottish Fish and Chip Awards in Glasgow on November 11.
Having just started in January this year, the team said was ‘totally unexpected’ for them to receive the coveted accolade.
It was also highly commended in the best mobile fish and chip van category.
Owner Fiona Cannon said: “We really didn’t expect to win as we are just new! It means a lot!
“There were so many people in the final including lots of fish and chip shops so we really thought they were going to win rather than a van!”
Having started up to provide a treat to those living in rural areas, the business has gone from strength to strength, since it first switched its fryer on.
“We would just like to thank everyone who has voted for us and supported us since the beginning. We wouldn’t be here without them!”
Highland Haddy is open four mornings and four evenings a week.
