THURSO lifeboat was called out on Monday morning to help a surfer who was struggling in the bay.

The Taylors launched at 11.10am into Thurso Bay after the woman encountered troubles while surfing by the shore at Rockwell.

She had come adrift due to an offshore wind but was in no immediate danger and was taken aboard the Severn-class boat and brought into Scrabster harbour for medical attention.
