Thurso initiative surfs to success with latest window photographs

An initiative to brighten up Thurso town centre with window-sized photographs has taken another step forward with new colour images that include surfing and brochs.

On Wednesday (February 26), the Thurso Town Centre Initiative (TTCI) 2024 project saw another stage completed with more images placed in shop windows. The project started with black and white heritage photos from the Johnston Collection being put in shop windows at the end of 2024.

New window posters in Thurso include colour images of surfing, brochs and St Peter's Kirk. Those helping with the initiative include Louise Smith, in wheelchair, along with Corinne Nicklin and Billy Sinclair. Picture: Peter Darmady

This latest batch of photographs was funded by the Highland Council Ward Discretionary Fund with a donation from Cairn Housing Association. The project is lead by the TCCI2024 subgroup originated by some members of Thurso Community Council who applied for funding and organised the project.
