Churches in Thurso will join together for a Easter service in the town centre on Saturday morning.

The inter-church service will take place in Sir John's Square at 11am with the Pentland Brass Band coming along to start things off.

Elizabeth Macdonald of the United Reformed Church said: "All the churches have come together in Thurso and are doing a wee service outside. We just felt after such a long time shut down – two years – we really needed to do something.

"It is high time we got out there and say we are still on the go."

The band will start playing before the service, about 10.30am and will provide music for a couple of hymns.
