Thurso care home becomes animal farm during visit

Care home residents enjoyed a spot of animal magic recently as they welcomed some very special visitors.

Residents at Pentland View care home in Thurso got he chance to get up close with some cuddly - and not so obviously cuddly - critters when the Caithness Animal Farm Park came to visit with some of their small animals.

Rabbits, guinea pigs, tortoises and even a snake and a leopard gecko enjoyed their time in the care home garden, delighting residents.

Activities coordinator Oksana said: “There were so many smiles! This was a good day!”

Resident Margaret Quinell was among those enjoying the visit.

“I cuddled a snake! I CUDDLED a snake!” she said.

Pentland View Care Home is run by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, and provides residential care, nursing care and dementia care for residents from respite care to long term stays.
