Youngsters at Thrumster Primary School and ELC have pledged to do their bit to look after the environment after learning about the COP26 climate change conference in Glasgow.

The school's eco committee led the pupils and teachers in an activity to each write a "promise to the planet" on a leaf shape. The results show an understanding of key themes such as the importance of recycling and the need to minimise waste.

“I promise to always turn the light off when I leave the room,” one pupil wrote, while another declared: “I promise that I will re-use my water bottles.”

Other pledges included “I promise to put my litter in the bin” and "I promise to try not to waste too much”.

The promises will be displayed around the school.
