‘TAKE 5!’ with Wick Players youth workshops
Wick Players has decided to run a brand new five-session drama workshop aimed at all youngsters between the ages of 11 and 16.
The workshop, which is called 'Take 5!', will run for five consecutive Monday evenings throughout the summer from 7-9pm in the Moray Street Drama Centre.
A Players spokesperson said: “Each session will focus on a different topic relating to drama, introducing kids to the world of amateur dramatics and Wick Players. Not only is this a great opportunity to welcome some new young members to the club, but it is also a great opportunity for our current juniors to adapt and develop their skills in am-dram.”
Some information about what to expect:
Week 1 – Monday, August 5. ‘Welcome to Wick Players’: An introduction to the club, how it operates and the basics of a stage.
Week 2 – Monday, August 12. ‘And all That Jazz’: The creative side of drama, be a part of the panto chorus.
Week 3 – Monday, August 19. ‘This is Drama’: An insight into stage movements with drama games and activities.
Week 4 – Monday, August 26. ‘3, 2, 1 Act!’: It's all about 'improv'. Some hands-on drama and its challenges.
Week 5 – Monday, September 2. ‘Curtain Call’: A tour of the group’s second home, Wick Assembly Rooms.
