'Strong returns' for Caithness sellers at Quoybrae

Quoybrae, Aberdeen and Northern Marts on Monday, September 26, sold 910 store cattle.

Bullocks (370) averaged 242.5p to 279.3p for a 487kg Charolais cross from Gerston, Halkirk and £1750 gross twice for a 737kg Charolais Cross and 705kg Limousin Cross from Brae Edge, Castletown.

Heifers (382) averaged 232.4p to 280.5p and to £1470 gross for a 524kg Limousin cross from Vauldale, Nybster.

Aberdeen Angus and Native Bred Bullocks (60) averaged 236.1p to 251.1p for pen of three 476kg from Backlass Croft, Watten to £1450 gross for a pen of three 604kg from Stemster Mains, Halkirk.

Aberdeen Angus and Native Bred Heifers (98) sold to 241.8p for a pair of 521kg from Backlass Croft, Watten and £1300 for a pair of 586kg from 5 Lochend, Castletown.
