A BRAND new eatery in the centre of Wick gave its first restaurant customers a special welcome last week.

Northern Sole trades from the former Cabrelli's café – that closed its doors back in 2003 – and is run by Elizabeth Findlay who previously managed Elizabeth's restaurant on Wick Bridge Street.

Elizabeth said: “I am so excited for the future of Northern Sole and the support we have received so far has been fantastic. It's great to finally open the restaurant which we hope will complement the café and takeaway."

She went on to say how pleased she and her staff were to receive their first customers into the High Street restaurant.

"We were so delighted with their feedback and look forward to them coming back again," she added.

Vikki Miller, from Wick, was amongst the group of family and friends who enjoyed the first meal in Northern Sole.

She said: “We went to the shops and then swing-park and finally the sideshows. We were really hungry so I suggested we try Elizabeth's new place.

"We were delighted with the special attention the staff gave to us all and especially to the children who were given posters to colour in while waiting for their food – that was a godsend as you know how fidgety kids can get."

Vikki added that the restaurant was very clean and comfortable and was highly recommended to all.

Elizabeth said that the restaurant has a wide range of meals and snacks for everyone. "The meat and fish are sourced locally and all our products are made to order and value for money is promised." Booking a table for the restaurant is advisable but not essential, she added.
