‘Seriously injured’ pedestrian taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after collision on A9 in Golspie, Sutherland; Police Scotland say enquiries ongoing

A pedestrian was taken to hospital with “serious injuries” last night after being struck by a car in Golspie.

The A9 was closed for more than five hours after the collision in Main Street, which involved a Hyundai i20 and 62-year-old woman pedestrian.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after the collision at around 8.50pm.

The road remained closed until around 2.30am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police received a report of a crash involving a Hyundai I20 and a 62-year-old female pedestrian on Main Street in Golspie around 8.50pm on Friday.

"Emergency services attended, and the pedestrian was taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious injuries.

"The road was closed and re-opened around 2.30am.”
