The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice and says there is a “chance of disruption and difficult travel conditions” due to the wintry conditions.

Highland Council says its gritters are treating affected areas of Caithness. The winter road report states that road surface temperatures are below zero and a full patrol is spreading grit.
