Public share ideas about transforming Thurso for the better

On Saturday (November 2) Thurso Community Council (TCC) started its Local Place Plan consultation about the town’s future.

Held in the Socially Growing shop on Rotterdam Street, the face to face event saw TCC collect many ideas about the town from members of the public.

With money from the Caithness Community Fund; Halsary wind farm ScottishPower Renewables community benefit fund; and the Highland Council Ward Discretionary fund, TCC has already put heritage photographs in shop windows to brighten up the town.

Community councillor, Billy Sinclair, who was manning the display at the start of the event said: “Following this opening event, you can find our questionnaire online on the Thurso Community Council Facebook page and we encourage people to respond with their suggestions up until Christmas.”
