Covid-19 was reported in one part of Caithness – the Caithness North West area – during the latest seven-day period covered by Public Health Scotland’s interactive dashboard .

The online resource has a map giving the number of positive cases in specific Scottish "neighbourhoods", seven of which are within Caithness, as well as trends for local authorities and NHS boards.

The latest Public Health Scotland figures cover the period October 20-26.

Where there are fewer than five positive cases in an area, the actual number is not provided "to protect patient confidentiality".

The dashboard shows there were between one and four positive cases in the Caithness North West neighbourhood.

There were no cases in Caithness North East, Caithness South, Thurso East, Thurso West, Wick North or Wick South.

The Sutherland North and West area, including the north coast communities, had between one and four positive cases.

The dashboard reports 42 positive cases in the Highland local authority area during the seven-day period.
