Give Blood, Save Lives campaign for Highlands and Moray needs YOUR vote in Making a Difference Award
We are up for an award - thanks to you!
Our Give Blood, Save Lives campaign helped bring in 5000 donations of blood across the Highlands and Moray before Easter this year, helping up to 15,000 people.
In no small part that success was down to the stories readers generously shared of why they donated, or how their lives had been transformed by donations at a critical time.
We have now been shortlisted for the 2025 Making a Difference Award and a win would be just a small way to say thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this life-saving campaign.
Voting opens today at 9.30am and runs until Thursday at 5pm at https://newsmediauk.org/making-a-difference/
Dr Sylvia Armstrong-Fisher, Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service head of territory for the northern arch, said: “The success of the Give Blood, Save Lives campaign was a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when local journalism and community spirit come together.
“Thanks to the incredible support across the region, Highlanders rolled up their sleeves and helped thousands of patients. But their need for blood and plasma never stops.
“Inverness Blood Donor Centre plays a vital role in the treatment of patients in the city, the north and across the country, and we’re calling on our communities to keep giving blood. Every donation makes a difference – everyone who gives blood could save lives. Make an appointment to give blood at Scotblood.co.uk, or phone us on 0345 90 90999 (Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm).”
